Depeche View Documentation Sources

  • Main Help Text: within the program, click on the help button, then press CONTROL+N (like narrow) to reduce the search scope just to that text. Now you can either scroll through the help text, or type words to search for.
     
  • Configuration File: Depeche View Pro features like scripting on self defined hotkeys, calling external programs, or syntax highlighting extensions are mainly documented in remark blocks within the config file. Click on Setup / Config / Create to ... to create the newest version of a config file. It will then be opened in Notepad, and you can read through it's contents.
     
  • Pulldown menu: the most important hotkeys are documented via the pulldown menu, wherever it says "How to ...". The pulldown menu is available only in thick border mode. In case it's not shown, click on the square button.
     
  • Tooltips: just hoover the mouse over any button for a while, and it should show a short text description.
